Atreyee Day

What if after Rohith died he realized there are no other worlds? Maybe there is only this world which simply becomes translucent, without borders or boundaries embracing polarities. The old fashioned coal iron box steams on a hybrid nondescript shirt. The fly may ultimately be flicked or flattened by the hand. The striped tablecloth becomes steps to the river. The iron rests finally on what became an envelope, reminder of Rohith’s poetic farewell, overlapping into a chequered map-like landscape with the free-wheeling eagle, setting sun, flying prayer flags and distant mountains.

Atreyee Day reads journals, maps, cooks, cleans and draws. She conceives and co-facilitates art based interventions in learning spaces with her other half, Blaise and enjoys the poetry of comics and telling stories.
